There’s something about Durga Puja that always touches the heart, the steady beat of the dhak in the distance, the fragrance of incense mingling with laughter, and that quiet sense of belonging that only Pujo brings. This year’s Pujo Parikrama was all of that and more, a tender mix of devotion, memory, and discovery.
Many of us began the morning with a bit of doubt, wondering if the long day, the traffic, or the crowds might wear us out. But from the moment we set off, those worries quietly faded. The team that arranged everything took such genuine care that we could relax, chat, and simply soak in the spirit of the day.

The first day set just the right pace from Kalighat to Belur Math and Dakshineswar. Each place felt alive in its own way, the stillness of prayer, the hum of devotees, the river gliding past in calm rhythm. When rain joined us uninvited on Day 2, it didn’t dampen our mood one bit. Out came the umbrellas, and soon, laughter and old songs filled the air. The drizzle only added another colour to the journey.
And, as any Bengali will agree, Pujo without good food is unthinkable! Lunch at Bhajohari Manna was pure comfort, homely, delicious, and served with warmth. It brought back memories of family gatherings from years gone by. Everything moved so smoothly, no rush, no confusion, just thoughtful planning and quiet care from the team looking after us.
What truly stayed with us, though, was the togetherness. The drivers, guides, and coordinators weren’t just doing their jobs, they accompanied us like old friends. Their smiles, small kindnesses, and steady patience made the experience that much richer.
As we drove back on the final evening, the rain lights glistened on the roads of North Kolkata, and a gentle calm settled over us. It felt as if the city itself was whispering its blessings. We ended the journey with full hearts, grateful, content, and already hoping this becomes a yearly tradition.

Because Pujo, at its core, isn’t just about visiting pandals or rituals, it’s about companionship, comfort, and shared moments. And this year, we found all of that, beautifully intertwined.
SilverGenie’s #DurgaPujoWithCare initiative began as a heartfelt effort to make Durga Puja more inclusive and accessible, inspired by real community experiences and insights. It grew into a city-wide journey demonstrating that true inclusion is possible through empathy, intent, and collective effort. Celebrating diversity, equity, and belonging, it reinforces that festivals can be spaces where everyone feels welcome and connected. This year, our journey was honored with thoughtful features in both The Hindu and Financial Express, two cherished newspapers recognizing the accessibility and inclusivity woven into this special celebration.
